CDCFIB Disowns Fake Recruitment Postponement Notice, Warns Applicants Against Misinformation

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has debunked a viral press release circulating online which claimed that its 2026 recruitment exercise had been postponed.

In a statement issued on Sunday through its official social media platform, the board described the notice as fake and urged members of the public, especially prospective applicants, to disregard the information.

To further clarify its position, the CDCFIB prominently stamped the circulating document with a bold red "FAKE" watermark and warned applicants against falling victim to misinformation.

The forged press release, which was falsely attributed to the Office of the Secretary of the Board, claimed that the 2026 recruitment exercise had been postponed due to alleged administrative rearrangements.

The fake document also instructed applicants to wait until November 2026 for further updates and warned them not to pay money to individuals or groups claiming to offer early access to the recruitment process.

Additionally, the fraudulent notice directed applicants to visit the board's recruitment portal for information regarding the supposed postponement.

However, the CDCFIB categorically denied issuing such a statement and emphasized that the document did not originate from the board.

The board reiterated its commitment to transparency and urged applicants to rely solely on information released through its verified communication channels and official platforms.

The clarification comes barely a week after the board announced the names of successful candidates who participated in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted as part of the November 2025 recruitment exercise.

According to the board, successful candidates have been invited to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process, with medical screening scheduled to commence on June 22, 2026.

The ongoing recruitment exercise covers vacancies within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

The CDCFIB therefore advised applicants to remain vigilant and avoid fraudulent individuals or groups seeking to exploit job seekers through false recruitment information.

The board reassured candidates that any official update regarding the recruitment process would be communicated through authorized government channels and its verified platforms.
