Aspirants of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State have paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi, reaffirming their commitment to the growth and success of the party ahead of future political engagements.
The visit, which brought together aspirants from various constituencies across the state, was described as an opportunity to strengthen unity within the party and receive guidance on the way forward.
Addressing the delegation, Hon. Adekanbi commended the aspirants for their maturity, discipline, and loyalty to the leadership of the party. He particularly praised them for complying with Governor Seyi Makinde's appeal to step down for individuals currently serving in government positions, describing the decision as a demonstration of true party loyalty and respect for leadership.
According to Adekanbi, the willingness of the aspirants to place the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions reflects the spirit of sacrifice required to build a strong and enduring political movement.
He further urged members and aspirants to remain committed to grassroots politics, stressing that meaningful political victories are built from the ward and community levels.
Adekanbi emphasized the need for intensified awareness campaigns on the ideals, vision, and manifesto of the Allied Peoples Movement, encouraging party faithful to engage directly with residents across the state.
"The foundation of every successful political movement lies at the grassroots. We must continue to connect with the people, share our vision, and build strong structures capable of delivering electoral success," he said.
The former commissioner also applauded the efforts of party members in promoting the APM across Oyo State, assuring them that their sacrifices and dedication would not go unrewarded.
He encouraged the aspirants to remain steadfast and focused, assuring them that their commitment to the party would eventually yield positive results.
"The reward is coming. Continue to work hard, mobilize at the grassroots, and remain committed to the ideals of the party," he stated.
Speaking after the meeting, some of the aspirants expressed appreciation for the encouragement and leadership provided by Adekanbi, noting that the engagement had further strengthened their resolve to expand the party's presence across Oyo State.
They pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen party structures, and continue building meaningful relationships with communities in preparation for future electoral contests.
The visit ended with a renewed commitment by members and aspirants to work collectively towards the growth of the Allied Peoples Movement and the realization of its political objectives in Oyo State.
