The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially displayed the names, personal particulars, affidavits, and credentials of 19 presidential candidates and their respective running mates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission announced that the documents, contained in Form EC9, have been published at its national, state, and local government offices across the country in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026.
According to INEC, the publication is in line with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026, which mandates the commission to make public the personal particulars, affidavits, and credentials submitted by candidates within 21 days after receiving nominations from political parties.
The electoral body explained that the exercise is aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation in the electoral process by allowing Nigerians to examine the information submitted by all candidates seeking the nation's highest office.
INEC noted that members of the public are free to inspect the documents at its offices nationwide and, where necessary, take appropriate legal steps if they discover any discrepancies in the information provided by any candidate.
The display follows the publication of the candidates' nomination forms and supporting documents on Saturday, marking another major milestone in preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The commission also released the full list of the 19 presidential candidates, their running mates, and their respective political parties, reaffirming its commitment to conducting a free, fair, transparent, and credible electoral process.
