Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid tribute to fathers across the country and around the world, celebrating their love, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions to family and national development.
In a goodwill message released to mark Father's Day 2026, the First Lady acknowledged the critical role fathers play in shaping the lives of their children and strengthening society through their dedication and commitment.
According to her, fathers serve as pillars of support, providing guidance, protection, and encouragement that help build confident and responsible individuals.
"On this Father's Day 2026, we celebrate the love, strength, and sacrifice of fathers across Nigeria and around the world," she stated.
The First Lady noted that fathers contribute significantly to the character formation, confidence, and future success of their children, emphasizing that strong families remain the foundation of strong communities and a prosperous nation.
"Fathers play a vital role in shaping the character, confidence, and future of their children. Through their guidance, protection, and dedication, fathers help build strong families and stronger communities," she added.
Senator Tinubu also extended her appreciation beyond biological fathers to include father figures, mentors, guardians, and role models who have positively impacted the lives of others through their support and leadership.
She commended men who work tirelessly every day to provide for their families and ensure the well-being of their loved ones despite various economic and social challenges.
"Today, we honour all fathers, father-figures, role models, and mentors who show up each day, working to provide for their families," the First Lady said.
While celebrating fathers nationwide, she offered prayers for continued wisdom, strength, good health, and divine guidance in their responsibilities.
