The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oluyole Local Government, Oyo State, Hon. Samson Oluwaseun Adekunle, has strongly refuted claims that the party no longer has members in the local government, insisting that the ADC remains united, active, and firmly positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections.
Adekunle's reaction followed comments allegedly made by the incumbent Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and APM House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, during a ceremony held on June 25, 2026, at Olomi Market Junction to welcome defectors into the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
According to Adekunle, Olatunji claimed that political parties such as the ADC and Accord Party no longer had a presence in Oluyole, alleging that their members had all joined the APM.
Reacting to the statement, the ADC chairman described the claim as false, misleading, and far from the reality on the ground.
He maintained that the ADC in Oluyole remains intact, with its members fully committed to the ideals and vision of the party.
"Our party is still standing strong. ADC remains active in Oluyole Local Government, and none of our members has defected to the APM. Our members remain loyal because they believe in the future and success of our great party," Adekunle said.
He added that the party's structures across the local government remain intact and that preparations for the 2027 general elections are progressing smoothly.
Adekunle expressed confidence that the ADC would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections, urging party members not to be distracted by what he described as unfounded political propaganda.
"Oluyole ADC remains unstoppable. Victory is assured in 2027, and our members remain steadfast and faithful to the party," he stated.
He also called on party supporters to remain focused, united, and committed to strengthening the ADC at the grassroots as the countdown to the 2027 elections continues.
