The campaign of Hon. Princess Oluwaseun Dosunmu, candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North-East Constituency 2, received another warm reception on Friday as she attended the Jumat prayer at the Hizbullahi Al-Ghalib Society of Nigeria (HLA) Central Mosque, Agodi Gate, Ibadan.
During the Jumat gathering, Hon. Dosunmu had the opportunity to address worshippers and speak about her aspiration to represent the people of Ibadan North-East Constituency 2 at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
She reiterated her commitment to using the opportunity of public office to demonstrate meaningful benevolence and people-oriented representation, particularly through initiatives that can improve the wellbeing and livelihoods of residents across the constituency.
In his warm remarks, the Imam, Alfa Sgidi Ali Adesina – R.T.A (Matala), offered prayers for Hon. Dosunmu in the Islamic tradition and expressed goodwill towards her political aspiration. He also encouraged her to remain committed to the people and expressed the Muslim community's support for her ambition.
The Imam noted that as a woman, Hon. Dosunmu could bring a unique perspective to representation, particularly in understanding and addressing issues affecting families, women and the wider community.
Other Islamic clerics, including Ustadh Kamil Mataza, Alfa Al-Ameen Adenirele, and Alhaji Ismail Oyeranmi (Odeyemi), also offered prayers, words of encouragement and goodwill towards the candidate.
The various groups within the mosque, including the youth wing, Halasatu and women's groups, also joined in prayers and expressed their support and encouragement for Hon. Dosunmu as she continues her journey towards the 2027 election.
Hon. Dosunmu was accompanied by the ADC Ward 4 Chairman and other members of the African Democratic Congress across the area, who joined her in the Jumat gathering and community engagement.
The visit ended on a peaceful and uplifting note, with visible expressions of warmth and goodwill among the worshippers. The atmosphere reflected the importance of faith, community engagement and grassroots participation in the political process.
For Hon. Dosunmu, the Jumat visit further underscores her commitment to taking her campaign directly to the people, listening to their concerns and building bridges across religious and community groups.
