The remains of late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, will be buried on Monday, August 24, 2026, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
According to an announcement signed by the Chief Imam of Ilaro and shared by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, the burial prayer is scheduled to hold at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Ilaro, Ogun State.
The announcement read in part:
“The Ilaro Muslim Community wishes to announce the burial of our beloved brother, Alhaji Hassan Taiwo (Ogogo).”
The burial arrangement was announced shortly after the death of the veteran actor became public on Sunday evening.
Ogogo reportedly died after battling stage-four cancer, with his daughter, Kira Taiwo, announcing his passing during an Instagram Live session.
The veteran actor was a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry and had a career spanning several decades, leaving a significant mark on Nollywood through his acting and filmmaking.
His death has continued to generate reactions from colleagues, fans and well-wishers across Nigeria.
