The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that the ongoing 2026 recruitment exercise into the four paramilitary services under its supervision has entered its final stages.
The Board disclosed this in a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary and signed electronically by the Secretary to the Board, Major General (Rtd.) A.M. Jibril, dated August 21, 2026.
The Board said it was aware of the high level of anticipation among applicants across the country, noting that the large number of applications received had placed a responsibility on the recruitment authorities to ensure that the selection process is comprehensive, fair and transparent.
According to the statement, the Board is committed to ensuring that the recruitment process is conducted in accordance with the principles of justice, merit, federal character and due process, while also taking into consideration the operational requirements of the four services.
The CDCFIB explained that it deliberately avoided rushing the recruitment process in order to ensure that all necessary procedures were properly followed before its conclusion.
“It is the intention of the CDCFIB not to rush the entire recruitment process, but to bring it to completion without any prejudice to the principles of justice, merit, federal character, due process, and the operational requirements of the four services.”
The Board further disclosed that the recruitment exercise had progressed considerably and had now reached its last stages, which it expects to complete within four weeks.
It added that once the process is concluded, candidates will be informed through the official recruitment platform.
The Board directed applicants to monitor the recruitment portal for further updates at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
The CDCFIB also thanked all candidates for their patience throughout the recruitment process and assured them that their patience would be rewarded.
“We sincerely thank all candidates for their patience and we assure the public that the candidates' patience shall surely be rewarded,” the statement said.
The 2026 recruitment exercise covers the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
The Board's latest announcement is expected to provide some relief to thousands of applicants who have been awaiting the conclusion of the recruitment process and further instructions regarding their selection and subsequent stages.
Applicants are advised to rely on the official CDCFIB recruitment platform and verified communication channels for updates and to be cautious of individuals or platforms seeking payment in exchange for recruitment slots or preferential treatment.
