Surajudeen Adio, popularly known as Surri Ilupeju, has denied allegations linking him to the cache of firearms reportedly recovered by the police, insisting that he is innocent and has never handled a gun in his life.
Speaking emotionally while pleading for justice, Surri maintained that he is a transporter by profession and has never engaged in any criminal activity.
According to him, the weapons displayed by the police do not belong to him, alleging that they were brought by officers to falsely implicate him in the case.
“I’m not an armed robber. I have never held a gun before in my life. I’m not the owner of those guns. The police brought them to implicate me. I’m a transporter; I have never committed any crime,” he said.
His remarks come amid ongoing police investigations into firearms allegedly recovered from a demolished building in Ibadan, where authorities have arrested several suspects and declared Surri Ilupeju wanted in connection with the case.
The police have yet to respond publicly to his latest claims, while investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
