There is relief across Oyo State as the pupils and teachers who were abducted in Orire Local Government Area have regained their freedom.
The development was confirmed on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who announced the successful rescue in a post shared on his verified X account.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” Onanuga wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the victims' release, including whether any ransom was paid or the exact details of the rescue operation.
The successful rescue has been welcomed by residents and concerned Nigerians, with many commending the efforts of the security agencies involved and expressing gratitude for the safe return of the victims.
