BREAKING: Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons Alive; Two Suspected Kidnappers Killed


The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, alive during a late-night operation conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Mrs. John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children were abducted on June 3, 2026, while on their way to drop the children at school in Ibadan.

According to police sources, the rescue followed sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations aimed at tracking the kidnappers. The operation reportedly led to a gun duel between security operatives and members of the kidnapping gang.

During the exchange of gunfire, two suspected kidnappers were killed, while two firearms were recovered from the suspects.

The victims were rescued alive and safely evacuated by the police.

Security sources further disclosed that operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the syndicate who escaped during the confrontation. Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds.

The abduction had sparked concern among residents and attracted widespread attention due to the victims' relationship with the former minister.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies continue combing surrounding areas as investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
